EMERGE International History

The Beginnings

The Cultural Health Indicator (CHI) and EMERGE’s entire suite of products and services were born out of a passion we had around creating healthy work environments and improving the rate of failed change initiatives.  It is our belief that going to work should be joyful not painful.  We believe a healthy work environment is one where the human spirit is recognized and honored. 

Where does our experience come from?

As HR and OD professionals, we have had first hand experience in supporting businesses through many types of change initiatives.  In doing so there was often a high level of frustration and the rate of sustainability for many of the changes was not very high.  We also discovered through our research that we were not alone – studies as published by organizations such as Watson Wyatt show a very staggering statistic – 75% of all change initiatives fail within the first three years.  Failure is defined as a business not attaining their financial goals or the change did not provide expected return on investment. 

Based on these facts we set out to design a methodology to support leaders through the change process. Our initial intent was and still is to provide a methodology for honoring the human spirit within businesses and connecting the human requirements with business needs.  We believe we have achieved this by creating a suite of tools and processes that provide:
